Video is growing fast. YouTube was only a year old when Google bought it for $1.5 billion in 2006. Since then it has become number two to Google itself in terms of search. The rapid rise in the use of smartphones with ever improving camera capabilities has driven both the consumption and creation of video content. In 2009 the BBC made social media and smartphones key tools for their news journalists to use. The growth of free wi-fi connectivity in public places and on public transport has meant we are now an ‘always connected’ society. In 2018 Ofcom in their annual survey found people said that their smartphone was now their most important device. In this session we will look at what organisations need to do to ensure they deploy a cost-effective video communications strategy. We will discuss what content works best and how to create an ongoing campaign to match your Customer Engagement Life Cycle. The session is led by Adrian Moss who has been using video communications since the early 1980s and formed Focus Business Communications in 2003 with audio and video production and editing studios near Southampton.
