John Reynolds OBE founded Castle Water in 2014, to become the UK’s largest independent water retailer, including acquiring the business retailing activities of the UK’s largest water company, Thames Water. John’s career started in investment banking – he has been described in the press as a “world class investment banker” as well as “fast-talking”, before he became a shareholder activist as Chair of the Church of England Ethical Investment Advisory Group, kick-starting the shareholder spring’s criticism of executive remuneration. Author of two books on business ethics, he was awarded an OBE in 2012 for services to Save the Children, which he continues to support.
