Hundreds of local organisations from across the region took part in the inaugural Southampton Business Expo which took place recently at The Ageas Bowl.
Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, The Daily Echo and The Breeze were among the companies exhibiting at the region’s biggest business show, which was organised to help small and medium sized businesses in Southampton to network and to encourage them do business with each other.
The founder of B2B Expos, the nationwide network of business shows, Matthew Larcome told us how delighted he with the event.
Mr Larcome told us, “The Southampton Business Expo was an excellent show. The event attracted hundreds of local businesses and I’d like to thank everyone involved. Southampton businesses are gearing up for the annual Southampton Business Expo which will be taking place on Thursday 24 November.
The event, which is sponsored by IT and telecom specialists Silver Lining, will see more than 100 companies from across the region exhibit their services, including local and independent businesses.
During the free event, visitors will be able to meet local suppliers and network to forge new business connections in dedicated speed networking sessions held throughout the day, as well as gain free valuable advice surrounding issues to help entrepreneurs either start or grow a business.
The Southampton Business Expo will also have seminars on a number of topics with keynote speakers including last year’s finalist on The Apprentice and author, Richard Woods; local business coach, Ian Dickson and one of the UK’s leading motivational speakers, Ben Kench.
This year’s business show, which is being supported by The Daily Echo and the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, already has over 600 visitors registered to attend, a packed seminar programme and a host of networking activities planned.

Hundreds of businesses from across the region will arrive in Southampton for the area’s largest networking showcase event next week.

Organisers had planned to reach this figure within a week of the event, but did not anticipate how quickly they would actually reach the target. Organisers are thanking local media and supporters of the event who have helped to spread the word.
Matthew Larcome, one of the organisers behind the business show, revealed why they think the target was achieved so early on in their marketing campaign. He said: “Every year we increase local marketing both online and offline. This year we have invested a lot of resources in attracting as many new visitors to the business show as possible.”
